Due Date Club February 2003: tips for choosing a nursing bra !

hi mommies!I came across this article reg. nursing bras..
Helpful Tips for Choosing a Nursing Bra
Even in the first months of pregnancy, a woman's breast will begin to change and to become sensitive. As soon as your pre-pregnancy bras become uncomfortable, you should choose bras to fit your new size. We highly recommend having three bras in your current size. \";One to wash, one to wear and one to hang dry\";.

When To Buy
The general rule of thumb is to purchase several nursing bras during the last three to four weeks of your pregnancy. Most (not all!) women will remain the same size the last month of their pregnancy through the first 8-12 weeks of breastfeeding. After that, your breast may slowly begin to return to a smaller size.

However, during the first 6 weeks of breastfeeding, it is quite common for nursing mothers to experience EXTREMELY FULL breast that may change a cup size before and after a feeding. We highly recommend that new mothers purchase at least one of the popular Bravado nursing bras. These bras contain spandex and will easily accommodate a change in cup size throughout the day. They are also very comfortable for sleeping & provide a place to hold nursing pads for leakage.

We do not recommend wearing an underwire for sleeping. Because you are lying down, the wires will put pressure on breast tissue differently then during normal wear and this can lead to plugged milk ducts, pain & infection!

hey deepali! I read this article also in the web abt. chocolate cravings...chocolates contain only 5-6mg of caffeine compared to 65-75 mg of caffeine in instant coffee and 35-45 mg of caffeine in coke drinks...consuming more than 400mg of caffeine is dangerous to the baby..
so I guess chocolates is in the safe zone..atleast something not to be worried abt..by this time I hope the cravings wud have gone!
take care

Do buy a new crib (or cradle). It's not worth the chance that your baby could slip through the rails if you buy a used one. It can be difficult to track down recalls that are more than a few years old.

Do make sure that the crib sheet fits securely and doesn't pull off. Oversized sheets can slip off and suffocate your baby. Crib sheets that are too small won't stay on the bed and can slip off putting your baby at risk.

Don't get into hot tubs, it's not worth it. If you overheat your body, you overheat your baby!
