Due Date Club November 2004:Separation anxiety

I recently started droping my son in day care for half day, it seems he cries there all the time, always standing by the door..
Is any of you facing this problem, if anybody knows what can I do to make this transition easy for him, that would be very helpful..

My son is getting adjusted in day care, I have changed his daycare, and sending him only for 3 hours..

It is normal

I am a silent visitor to this board. My son is 13 month old now. He is also going to daycare. He started going to daycare when he was 6 month old. He never had any complaints till we went to India for his one yr Bday in February for 1 month. After we came back I changed his daycare also. He cried most of the time for 1st one week. Now is absolutely fine. He only cries now when I drop him in the morning. So, dont worry it is normal for kids to get adjust to the place and also seperation anxiety. He will be fine very soon. Try this

Stay in the day care couple of days with him. Try to make him play with the other kids there. If he sees you moving with them freely without fear and anxiety he will get confidence slowly. Do this few days until he feels comfortable or try another place where he would like or try a friendly babysitter.
