Hi,
I am a 19year old British Asian lady born in the UK.
My problem is that I have really white, ghost type, porcelain skin which has a bluish cast undertone.I can visibly see nasty blue and green veins under my eyes since the area is so pale here. Other than this I have pretty normal skin with no blemishes or skin problems. I know many women would welcome this attribute but, I am considering getting a tan to warm up my complexion. Do you think it's a good idea for me to engage in tanning sessions/sunbed considering my skintype? what products are particularly suited to my skin? Also what kind of product can I use to get rid of these blue and green veins underneath my eyes???
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello. I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and I help people with their skin for a living. My suggestion to you is to cover up with make-up. I can recomend some of our products and teach you how to apply. Tanning may help but what will you do in the winter??

Dear Delta,
I am an American of Indian(Asian) background. I have been going to the tanning salon which offers the liquid tan...you stand there in your swim wear and it gives your skin a warm glow.

My skin isn't even pale, but I go for the even glow it gives...

If you don't opt for that, you can buy over the counter lotions with self tanning. You don't have to expose yourself to the sun, you just apply it and go.

I prefer a glowing complexion. I have always admired my darker skinned family members, their skin looks so healthy and they just look pretty even without makeup.

Mostly, becareful about applying too much to the elbows or knees...

Ireally appreciate your help. I had kinda heard of the self-tan booths but was quite hesitant about it giving me an unnatural effect, though I'll give it a try.

I couldn't agree more on the fact that a glowing complexion is certainly a most covetable beauty asset. It's unfortunate that in India women risk health to resort to bleaching their skin with disfiguring creams to gain a porcelain complexion. I certainly blame the Indian traditions and media for forcing such corrupt,unethical complexities upon women.

It needs to be addressed that beauty does not depend upon one's skin colour,but on the health and vibrancy of one's complexion. Some of the world's most beautiful women are darker skinned, think Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai and Naomi Campbell.

But there is only one thing which is more important than skin and that is the manifestation of a good heart.
