thanks for ur reply to my previous mail abt BF. i m trying to leave Virej's BF, buts its very difficult..... since past 2 days i let him cry at night & i turn to the other side n sleep. he cries n cries n cries so hard, that after abt 1/2hr i have to give up & then feed him & he sleeps. i dont know how i will manage to get rid of this; or will i ever manage to stop his feeding?
i guess dhruv is ur second child. pl can u help me with ur previous childs experience.

one thing i want to add is that whebever he cries u should not be there in front of him. And tell ur hubby to carry him and put him to sleep. If he see u there he will cry more.

Yesterday this incidence happened to me. While feeding my son bite me so hard that i shouted like anything. And he is now scared BF . Even if i offer him he refuses. But at night he feeds once or twice in sleep. That he will stop i thikn if my hubby cooperates. Jayashree replied. Hi Jayna,
I have a 1 yr old son and Ihave weaned him completely after he turned 1.
Before that I used to nurse him to sleep every single time and he wld wake up at night not coz of hunger but out of habit to nurse. Now that I have stopped he sleeps thru the night, its such a big relief for me. BUt this took some time. Me and hubby struggled with the exact same things u are talking abt but managed to do it.
Its good that Virej sleeps without nursing, thats a major thing. What you can try is when he wakes up at night, ask your hubby to pacify him by hugging him, and talking to him softly. Tell him things like, \";shhh..... we are right here\";. Then when he calms down , pat him gently and try to make him sleep.

You have to decide that you will not give in to his crying, or you will just confuse him . He will think , ok mom will nurse me after I cry harder, so let me try that. He shld get the mssg that no is actually no. My son took abt 3 weeks to sleep thru the night. Slowly we stopped even picking him at night waking, we wld just pat there itself and he wld be sleep off, but not without fussing and trying again. Its difficult to hear your baby cry, and that too when you are so tired and sleepy, but hang in there. A whole nights sleep is right there......
