Gudi Padwa is an important festival celebrated by Maharashtrians. We should teach children about the rituals associated with this festival. Organizing a get together and staging plays and skits which highlight the significance of this festival is a good idea. Celebrating Gudi Padwa as a big community will be an enriching experience for the kids.

I like Gudi Padwa as during this time we meet all our friends and relatives. It seems like an extended family picnic. Gudi Padwa delicacies like halwa, puri, shrikhand, puran poli are enjoyed more with all the family members. Preparing all the delicacies together is what I look forward to in addition to enjoying eating them.

I completely agree with you Manjari. It is indeed the most looked forward festival. Wearing traditional clothes seems so fun. Cleaning and decorating the house and hanging gudi are a fun filled activity, enjoyed by all. I specially look forward to eating puran polis, shrikhand, jalebis and usal. Dieting takes a back seat.
