Dear friends

Wish you all a very happy and healthy new year. I was back from Banglore yesterday and resumed at work today.

First 3 days of holidays were great... Rishi kept smiling at everyone, called and went to everyone and was so sweet. For the past four days he has developed some diarohea and fever and teh fever is still there. This new year eve was terrible since his fever shot upto to 102 degrees and I was holding him all night since he would not sleep in the bed! Shyam has gone to Sabarimala, so came back to chennai yesterday all alone with him (Thank God he slept through the flight).

Today afternoon I went for lunch and he was playing and it was a great relief for me to see him play. Giving him paracetomol and Gmet suspension for loose motions. I think he will settle in a couple of days. He has become thinner now and I am worried about his birthday and stuff.

Happy belated birthday to Sid, Suraj, Tia and Rishu. Moms, please share pictures. Shyam will be back next monday only, so I should use the weekend to plan for the party.

Congrats Sanghamitra, I am so thrilled about the news.

I can understand what you went thru with rishi's sickness...megha too was passing motions every one hour or so...about 2 weeks back...and it was really bad and messy...sometimes i had to bathe her again...
But they usually say that when a child has any new developement like teeth coming or is about to start walking,or learning new words , or even change of milk/environment then they fall sick...so it was true with megs...she had 2 teeth coming and had just started walking.
So maybe it's true for rishi too...he might have some new development coming ...don't worry about the weight either..it's the same here...megha hasn't gained weight in the last 2-3 months and doc hasn't said anything abt it.
Hopefully he will recover soon from his fever and come back to his active and healthy self soooooon. Lots of kisses to him.
Your plan about his b'day is really cool....i am also looking for something to do here after reading reena's mail.

As Ramya said, many people told me too that kiddus fall sick on their first b'day. My friend in office (who had delivered just 3 days before me) experience it, I went through that and I think same is case with you.
We should not believe in superstitions, but what to do when so many people experience the same things in different states/countries !!

Anyway, I am sure Rishi will be fine in a day or two... Abt looking thin, Radha also became quite thin in her fever and rashes episode. Luckily she did not have diarohea but her appetite had gone down completely. But she improved also a lot and quite quickly this time (after she turned one year), I must say.

So have faith, things will be fine.
I like idea of Reena for birthday celebration and it's good you are also thinking of charity, so nice of you.
For us, we had to do some function as after marriage we have not had a single function of any kind (not even a house warming of our new home).. so we had to plan it to \";return\"; in some way to the relatives and friends. We did gave donation to CRY person who had come to us just before Radha's birthday, but I accept it was not a concious decision.

But one thing is sure, I would have preferred a quieter way to celebrate Radha's birthday. Our bachhus do not understand or enjoy all these noisy celebrations.

I can understand what you are going thru...coz I was in the same boat a cpl of weeks back. As Ramya says, at completion of 1 year, kids normally have some health troubles...I used to laugh away these things...but I guess somewhere deep down I've started believing in such things...

Don't worry -- Rishi will be fine in a day or two, and will be fit as a fiddle on his B'day, touch wood...

i understand when u say he luks thinner.1-2 days of fever and the babies luk so down and weak.
now u can plan for a gr8party and he shd be fine.
in our culture they say naa '1st b'day babies do get unwell and sick.'guess have seen most babies to live up to that tradition.
