My son goes to swim almost every day at around 2 in the afternoon in the outdoor swimming pool of our apartment. The part of his which is exposed other than the trouser area is turned black. Pl suggest some remedy. M.Shreedharan replied. Dear Preeti,
The sun at that time of day is brutal to our skin, that is when the elements are the most harsh.
Have your son to go to the pool earlier in the day before noon or later in the afternoon after 6PM.
For his skin now, you need to apply some plain yogurt first to his skin since he probably has sunburn. After the heat is gone from that area, his skin may peel there...this is natural, just allow that area to be covered next time, have him to wear an undershirt outside at all times, he needs to cover himself somewhat.

Another solution is to make sure by all means that he applies sunscreen to his skin. If you live in the U.S., you can find sunscreen at any store, in India, you will have difficulty finding some. In that case, strongly advise your son to only go out to the pool early in the morning before noon or after 6PM.

I once was playing in a lake with my cousins and I got a very bad burn, my face and whole body was dark and my skin was sore. My face is now light again and there are no signs of what happened to me.
