Due Date Club November 2004:Questions on India trip

I hv few questions for the India trip. Hope you don't mind answering...

1. Did you guys take the regular stroller for India trip or did you take any smaller or umbrella stroller? Which one is good? Should I buy a small stroller for this purpose? I won't be using the stroller in India, it will be just for the transit.

2. Did you take nursery water to mix formula in flight? Do we use the nursery water as it is or should I boil it before using?

3. Does babies have jet lag in India or after they are back here? For how long?

4. Do babies sleep fine in the flight? Will they be cranky during the fly time?

5. The dimensions of the bassinet looks small for my daughter. She is 29.5 inches tall. How will the bassinet hold upto 2 year old in that case?

6. Did u guys use anything like mosquito repelling cream or repellent in India? Which one? Is it safe for babies?

7. Where did your baby sleep in India? on your bed or any seperate cradle? Shalika sleeps in her crib, now I don't want to break that habit by putting her in my bed. Any suggestions?

8. Did your baby fall sick for no reasons after reaching India? Was it fever/diarrhoea/vomitting?

9. Does baby get frequent diaper rashes because of wearing diapers all the time in hot weather?

Oh God, I started off thinking of 2 questions and the list is going on and on. I'm worried abt all little things abt the travel, hope u guys understand. I very much appreciate your responses.

Enjoy your day moms, and Lots of Love to li'l ones,
CK

Hi CK
how r u and ur baby doing?
i was in india for 3 months and returned to US last week, still busy with unpacking, settling down and getting into routine. i will try to answer ur question in short... if u want any more details pls let me know...

we went by singapore airlines, took a week long stopover at singapore and then were in india for 3 months.
i am highly impressed with the Baby friendly atttitude of singapore airlines and highly recommend it.
while on my return trip, i was travelling alone with khushi and crew members were very helpful. they watched khushi while i was having food or using restrooms. they even washed her feeding bottles for me.

1. i took jeep umbrella stroller, very helpful in transit and in india too.
2.in india, bisleri mineral water and during flight, i had carried nursery water.
3.no jet leg for khushi, i think kids r very flexible and adeptive.
4.khushi slept well in flight and not at all cranky.... she was playing with other passengers too.
5.khushi is 32 inches at present and last week when we flew back to US she cud sleep comfortably in bassinet
6.i ad taken bug zapper from FRY's electronics, and mosquito net from mumbai.. but never had major prob of mosquitoes, not even during rains.
good night/all out and other mosquito repellent mats r not safe for babies.
7. she used to sleep on floor on a small mattress right beside my bed.
she hasnt slept in my bed till now.
8.no illness for khushi thru out 3 months.... but a week bfor departing for US she got cold for 3 days, as she was teething, she got 2 tooth, i took her to local pediatrician, and she was fine in 3 days... b for our return journey.
9.no daiper rashes for khushi during india trip

take care
Kavisha

1. pram is not a good idea...take a stroller...

2. i used himalyan mineral water....boiled

3. ours was a small flight

4. they will be cranky for sure....but ultimately get tired and sleep...

5. tinti fit in well but shes not as tall as shalika...shes 29 now..was very cozy in the bassinet during srilanka trip recently....pl call them and be sure...and if ur still not satisfied then take the carseat along...im sure u'll find an empty seat and put it on securely...anything u take onboard will not be accounted towards ur baggage weight...only it will be too many things to carry

6. we used goodnight mats....and her mosquito net

7. we have a travel cot....folds up to becomes really small....a good buy for us
8. there is always a reason CK...dont be too worried abt it...just take precautions and keep her safe.

9. no rashes for tintin ...but yes...more changes

one more advice.....to keep ur pram and stroller safe...tie it up with something...otherwise many parts will be broken when u finally get it...just take a string and tie it up....

love
