hello. i have severe acne. i'm under prescription and it's gotten better. though it has left scars and also pit scars. the redness and discoloration still remains of old scars. is there any way i can take out those colors so my skin complexion color is EVEN? or close to even? i despise wearing makeup to even out my skin color because it creates a few more pimples and my goal is to have clear skin. please help me!

also i am in california !

Hi Sydney,

I love your name!
Your skin has to heal after all that acne and it takes time to regain its natural tone.

You may ask your dermatologist to reccomend Glycolic products that may help peel and remove some of the outer layers and dead skin which will dry out your acne and improve the overall condition. Do not apply these products if you are out in the sun during the day, always use Sun Block (the non-oily kind) and I know this part is hard, but try to be patient. Healing always takes time. Meanwhile, since you are in California, there are many acne products and lotions available at pharmacies or Dermatologist Clinics that they match to your skin color and can be applied like a foundation. The products cover while they heal.

The pits can only be removed by dermabrasion or laser treatments. I had Dermabrasion for acne scars and I will get a laser treatment in 2006. I was very happy with it.

Again you should always get medical advice and talk to your Dermatologist for treatment that is best for you.
