Please help me. I've got acne pimples since 4 yrs. the white heads are burstng and the blood flows which leaves marks on face which in otherways make the face loo dull. Acne affect teens as well as adults and may also be hereditary. Treatments should only be with medicational products that are specially formulated for the skin. You should really see a dermatologist who will ascertain the cause and will prescribe both internal and external treatments. Whatever the cause, you should avoid treating it yourself because of scarring. When pimples break, they dry out leaving a 'pit' or depression which is permanent and can only be partially removed by dermabrasion or laser treatments.

The marks, (not pits) once your acne dries out, can be treated by whitening products avaiable through your dermatologist or at the pharmacy.

I had severe adult acne myself and my mother in law made me try multani mitti, safi, haldi and cucumber treatments but nothing worked. In disgust I finally had dermabrasion by a Board Certified Plastic surgeon in the US who removed the scars by over 70%. I look and feel much better now but will go in for laser treatment within a year or two for a follow up.

Resolution takes time. Treatments that promise “fast,” miraculous” or “overnight” results often capture the attention of acne sufferers hoping for quick resolution. However, the fact remains that acne does not clear overnight. On average, 6 to 8 weeks are needed to see initial results. Once acne significantly improves or clears, continued treatment is needed to keep acne from re-appearing. If acne does not improve in 6 to 8 weeks, treatment may need to be adjusted as not every acne treatment clears every case of acne.

What works for one person may not work for another. What is an appropriate treatment for one person may not clear another’s acne because many factors affect resolution, including the cause(s) of the acne, a person’s skin type and the kind of acne lesions present.

A dermatologist’s help may be required. With so many factors affecting clearance and a multitude of treatment options available (some only by prescription), a dermatologist’s help can make a difference. Before prescribing treatment, dermatologists consider several factors, including the severity of the acne, types of lesions present, co-existing conditions, as well as the patient’s age, skin type, lifestyle and motivation.

The knowledge gained from considering these factors allows dermatologists to create effective individualized therapy that will resolve the patient’s acne over time and prevent new lesions from forming.

Sometimes a dermatologist may combine two or more treatment options. A patient may be instructed to use one medication in the morning and the other at night. Or, two medications may be combined in one prescription medication. Due to possible side effects, over-the-counter medications should not be combined unless directed by a dermatologist or other medical practitioner.

Acne responds especially well to early treatment. Dermatologists recommend that acne be treated early to maximize effectiveness as well as help prevent scarring.

i can understand how bad it is. first of all, wash your face every third hour with a mild soap. when a pimple breaks, immediately clean it with a cotton and dab it with eu-de-cologne or any after shave lotion. this will prevent the puss to affect the surrounding area from possible pipmle formation. to reduce the pimples, apply raw papaya juice everyday. make a paste of walnut and mix it with a pinch of fenugreek powder. apply it and leave it for 20 minutes and rinse off. avoid oil, ghee, curd, chocolates, any deep fried item and use as little oil in the food as possible. eat green vegetable + spinach for atleast a month. take a fruit juice everyday. pimples are not only caused due to external factors, but also because of internal factors. so just an external remedy is useless. you may also try clearasil- the old one. it is very powerful. once a pimple breaks, after cleaning it with a cologne, massage a small quantity of clearasil and dab a tiny ball of it on the pimple. do the same with the bigger ones. pimples break easily when each one is covered with a liberl quantity of turmeric paste. apply it at night, by morning, the ripe ones will have broken, leaving no pain. thus one after the other can be broken. then its you who should see that it doesnt come back. carry cologne tissues with you and whenever you want to wipe your face, use that so that it freshens your skin and also disinfects your skin.
