i am sanjana,doing my 3rd year college. i have knee lenth long hair.. i have decided to shave my head for this new year and be bald for a while jus to expereince the whole process and to have a drastic change in my look..
i need some information before getting an shave...

1. how long it will take on average to grow shoulder length hair...
2. any precautions to be taken before and after the head shave.
3. can tonsure be done at a saloon?
4. does tonsure helps in healthy growth of hair

plz give some idea so that i can have pleasurable head shave..

I am surprised to see your message. I cannot believe a college going girl wants to shave her head for fun only. My little sister is much younger, 11 years old. She has very thin & mousy hair. Many people have told us to get her head shaved to stimulate the volume and growth but she does not like the idea because she would get a lot of teasing at her School. In fact, to stimulate the hair follicles they say that shave it seven times with razor. My mom once took her to a beauty salon but nobody was willing to do the head shave. Now mom is thinking of taking her to a barber. She is literally dreading that day and don’t want to be bald but also wants to get some kind of improvement in her hair growth. I have suggested to get it done when the School closes for vacation. Once she gets it shaved, I think it will take several months before it will grow. Mom wants to do it once weekly 7 times.
Again I cannot believe people do it for fun only. I will read your message to my sister & may be she will feel better.
