C-Section:Bath after c-section

When can we take bath after c-section?
Is it possible to cover the area and take a shower? How long do we have to wait for taking a shower? Do we have to wait till the wound heals?
Is it always sponge bath? If yes, for how many days?

i too had c-section and was given bath the next day here in USA. after bath, nurse asked me to dry the area around stitches properly with soft cloth (to avoid any infection i guess)

RE:C-Section
C-sections are planned when the mother wishes to escape the labor pain or in emergencies like if the cord is entangled around the baby's neck and the baby's life is at risk. But i think natural delivery is always a better option.... - Neeta [View Message]
