Pediatricians normally recommend starting whole milk after one year of age.Egg yolk can be given after 9 months of age but eggs whites should be introduced after 12 months(to reduce the chances of allergy).

Of course,different people make changes to these recommendations.I started giving my son whole milk twice a day from 11 months(just to help him with the transition from formula to cow's milk),egg yolk at 10 months and whole egg at 12 months.

The doctors also recommend giving iron supplements if the child is vegetarian and only on whole milk.But,I think that if the child has a well balanced diet,iron should not be a concern.

Sid's Ped adviced not to give kiddos milk until 12 months and milk products until they reach 9 months...So no milk products so far for him so far...
she asked to avoid eggs until he is 11 months old,but i know that some of my friends give eggs yolk to their babies.

I am planning to start with whole milk once he completes 8 months. I am giving him only BM now and nothing else and I can sense and feel that it is not enough for him. He hates milk so I don't know how I am gonna train him drink it, but it has to be done one day.

Eggs, I don't think so. We are vegetarians and though we do take egg, I don't know if mom and MIL will allow me to feed Rishi.
