Milestones:Very slow weight gain

Name: Amithu's Mom

My daughter is 14 months old. Her birth weight was 3 kgs. She was lactose intolerant, but was diagnosed only when she was three months old. During those three months, she lost a lot of weight. She came down to 2.2 kgs. Then she gained very slowly. Now she is only 7 kgs. But again last week, she had viral infection and dehydration. She has further dropped down to 6.3 kgs. I am extremely worried about this. I am not able to find any solution for increasing her weight. Could any one please help me. She is active. The Paeds are asking us to continue giving rice, dal, potato etc. I am very worried her.

Hey

Be cool. Nothing to worry till the time your baby is active. I have a 10 month old son. He eats food like oats, all veggies like potato/carrot/ beans/ cauliflower, frutis which are banana, apple pomogranates, and rice, chapappthis, dosas, idlis etc regulalrly everyday. But his weight is just 9.00. But he is active.

My advice is that till the your baby is active and has smile on her facew do not worry.

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
