1.Any safety/barrier/child proofing ideas..pls share..help needed asap

2.any one started out w/baby signs yet?if yes,what's the status?

3.HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO COOK W/THE BABY UNDER UR TOES??????..even vacuum..Tia thinks its th egreatest thing & runs after/in front of the vacuum & pulls & tugs at the cord..I guess she simply thinks its some kind of a big cat/dog..

4.Anyone started out w/finger foods?

5.How often & what types of Juices r u offering the kids?
6.r ur kids sleeping in the crib???

No childproofing till now, but even I need help, especially from local moms. Rishi was found to be catching ants from the corners of walls and is so fascinated by that game. However we distract him, he will crawl to the corners so quickly to catch them!! Can't even put some Lakshman Rekha or something coz we are afraid if he would lick the floor!!!!

As of now, as Paddoo and Raj, we have put pillows in the sockets near the bed and covered some with cellotapes.

We just make this \";tata\"; \";good morning\"; signs to him to see if he catches, but he only waves his hands, not like a \";bye\"; but like he is going to hit everyone :)

I have mom here, so either of us cook and the other takes care of him, but when am at work, mom gives him a plate and two spoons and he will be hitting them and playing while she is at the kitchen. But often he will come into the kitchen looking for us!

No finger foods. Rishi has not learnt to snatch whatever we are eating if we are holding him and he opens his mouth to indicate he wants too... especially when we take water from the fridge. Isn't it too early?

Mosambi and apple juice. Apple juice is however like a milk shake - thick one with milk and lil sugar which we have to feed him with spoon. Mosambi and tomato soup eeryday, but mostly cerelac is mixed with soup and fed.

Rishi sleeps till 3 in the morning in a swing like crib (its actually broad but not a crib too) and then by my side in the bed. I feel he sleeps more peacefully if he is in his swing. Shyam has got a bigger one for him today, so will make him sleep in that. Easy to rock too when he cries in sleep.

1. None. I am going to put dummies on exposed sockets at Kich-level and am covering up the areas arounf the wash-basin in the dining room. Kich is not very mobile yet, so i'm taking my time.

i will not be putting up any barricades though.

2. No baby signs, i only act out the rhymes i sing. My dad abso forbids me from signing 'no' to him. Mom feels that signing may delay speech if they get comfy with getting their stuff done with signs. Donno.

3. N/A. I've help. No vaccum, daily jhadoo poncha here.

4. Kich has started taking bite sized pieces of idli/ dosa or even some rice if we put these in front of him. He throws away some but puts some into his mouth too. Y'day i mashed up an aloo and put in front of him, he picked up a few pieces (the gooey ones) and ate.

we keep him with us when we're eating (one of us holds him while the others eat) and he's fascinated with the chewing. Dad says this way kids develop a natural interst in food and dont see it as hunger-medicine.

5. Apple juice, Mosambi (sweet lime) and anar (pomegranate) just 2 oz. One type in a day. Also mom prefers tomato juice to the soup that i make, so we'll start that too now.

6. negative. Kich sleeps in the bed with me.

1.we are shifting our house this month end and only then will start with child proofing..Abhi tho maine sirf electric outlets pe cellotape daala hai..
2.Whenever i sinng any rhyles, i make signs.also i make him touch the flower, grass and stuff..he waves hi/bye an claps too..maine abhi tak wohi sikhaya hai..i also do some had movements indication YEs, NO,hand shakes, HI-5s,aeroplans,birds and butterflies..patha nahi use kithna samjh main aatha hai.
3.yeah good question..30min ka cooking abhi 2 ghanta lagtha hai.Sid is scared of vaccum cleaner,so i vaccuum in thevenings when Sri takes him out.
4.Yes, i give Sid gerber ke Sweetpotato puffs, he can pick it up and eat on his own.I also gave him biter biscuits 2 times so far.
5.I havent started juices so far but he takes a bite off an apple and watre melon..
6.Sid sleeps on his bed next to me
