Hey Mamta, hope you are doing well...

My husband and I are planning to take the childbirth classes. Even I have heard that when the moment arrives, you forget most of it but then I also have friends who say that the relaxation exercises they teach often help you calm yourself down whenever you get stressed during your pregnancy, even way before the labor !!!

Another advantage is I shall get a tour of the hospital and labor rooms so hopefully I feel a little more comfortable when I finally land there (assuming my baby is not born in a car or home because we are stuck in a snow storm !!!! Just kidding !!!)

Plus I think more than me I would like my husband to get a fairer idea of what to expect...Thanks to nature (and the nature of his work - He travels a lot) most men are simply not as tuned into pregnancy as women. So the classes should prepare him a bit and also make him feel more a part of it.

Thanks for replying dreamymommy.I was in 2 minds . on one hand i wanted to take the classes for the reasons you mentioned above,but tensed about watching the videos and stuff.. i want to take it more to get my husband acquainted to the birth process. Your response helped me decide and i think i will go ahead with the classes . Also it will help clear any doubts and questions about the labor process.
