Hello Prarthana,

I had done a mistake till now without properly thinking of the effects. I have been using Roach and Ant spray till yesterday. Today I realised that we shouldn't use them in pregnancy. I am kind of worried now. I am 6weeks+3days pregnant. what should i do now? Do i need to check with my OB? Please help me.

Is it OK if someone else sprays it? But the smell of the chemical remains almost whole day? How to avoid then? Please suggest.

Take care,
blessed_mom

hi!!
its ok. i got my aparment professionally when i was 6 weeks. but it should be avoided during preg esp during 1st and last trimester. occasional use wont harm. from next time ask someone else to do it for u while u stay in a well ventilated area. do not inhale the spray. its best to avoid for nine months. if u r in india, u can use lakshman-rekha chalk for roaches. i think u r in US. u can get other things from walgreens which are not to be sprayed. ask the pharmacist bout what is safe to use. avoid sprays from now on.
take care,
love and prayers,
pari.

my heart skipped abeat when i saw a sad face ...

they do say that pesticieds and chemicals are bad ..but i do not think we need to be paranoid abt it ..think of it this way ... you are in US right where everyone can sue anyone if those were so detrimental to the growing baby then i am sure there would be warnings on it ...

but maybe to soothe yourself call your nurse and ask her ...

if it is harmful then i think it would be better if it is not used at all ..specially here with the bad ventilation .....

i would say ..ask your ob-gyn ...and dont panic ... i am sure that the baby will not be affected by it ....
