How do i use bleach on my face and body..does the skin get lighter?? can i do this on my own or should i get it done at the salon. is it save to use more than one method to your face and body?? Jo Prabhu replied. Julie,

I am a licensed cosmetologist here in California and have worked with a world renowed plastic surgeon and dermatologist for many years.

I don't know what the base color of your skin is however, without first eeing a licensed and experienced dermatolgist, you should NOT try any products especially on your face.
Most cosmetic procedures are NOT covered by insurance and therefore you may have to pay up front and out-of-pocket, but this definitely is well worth the money you spend.
DO NOT shop for the cheapest price. Cost should NEVER be a factor with your health or your face. It is best to get a referral for the best practitioner in order to avoid ghastly and sometimes irreversible mistakes.

That said, if you do wish to try an off-the-shelf product, you can first try a mild glycolic peel. Glycolic acid *products usually include a cleanser, a toner (to neutralize and dry the skin) and a soothing night or day cream.
*This is not really an acid but a plant derivative, also called a phyto chemical. Safe for human skin.
You will first need to perform a patch test on the inside of your wrist, the back of your ear or even on your thigh. If there is no reaction or allergy after 24 hours, then it is assumed safe to use on the face and neck.
Always use caution and make sure to protect your eyes. DO NOT Use the product under the delicate eye area, or on the eyelids.

This procedure is best done at night before you go to bed. Avoid the sun for at least a week during and after the process. Always wear a hat and don't forget the UV sunscreen.
Right after you apply the product, your skin will experience a mild or strong 'fiery' burning sensation. This abates after a few minutes, but the buring indicates the product is being effective.

Glycolic acid dries the skin initiating sloughing or peeling depending upon the strength of the product. Stronger lotions will actually peel the skin off as in a sun-burn or an onion. Be careful and DO NOT TEAR or 'help' the skin off while it peels. . Just allow it to slough and peel off by itself. You won't look pretty during this process and you will look like a lizard shedding skin for a couple of days, but the new skin underneath will be tight, lighter and have a healthy glow.
Results vary per person and skin type, and you may not achieve visible results the first time.

Over time, however, your skin WILL get lighter but only if you adhere to manufacturers instructions and stay out of the sun.

if it is a natural therapy, any application as long as it suits your skin type wont do any harm. if it (a) shemical product(s), then it is something that requires second thoughts. there are good skin lightening creams available in the beauty stores. but more than a product for skin lightening available in the market, bleach at a salon at regular intervals of time can bring good results. can be expensive, but you wont repent blowing those bucks. but chose a reputed salon lest you repent. or natural remedies can lighten your skin permanently by 2 shades but it will take some time.
