Normal Delivery:Breech baby
2007-08-29
Name: NEHA PITRE

Hi,

I have completed 28 weeks my due date is 22nd Nov. During scan Doctor told me that baby is in Breech position. Would like to know what are the chances of normal delivery ? Is it normal that baby is in breech position during this period ? Will it change it' s position ?

Please assist.

Thanks - Neha

Heyy
I had a c-sec and absolutely nothing to worry !! dotn panic or get tensed..
u know i was chatting with the docs in the OT,,,they were all surprised.. Actaully i was so happy that i wud see my baby in few minutes that i felt there' s nothing to worry its time for celebration.. and once Ayush was delieverd I was even more cheerful, I dont remeber anything called ' pain after surgery' (though physically i had pain, mentally i determined not to ' feel' it..even till now.. ayush is 5 months :-)
i dint doze off after the anesthetia nor did i take rest for the next 24 hrs of delivery i dint close my eyes even for second !!! so dont worry be happy.. Actually it is your will power that matters here.. i was back to normal on day 2 itself !!
worry unnecessarily harms ur baby !! be happyyyyyy

Neha , my baby was also a breech baby . It is difficult to have normal delivery when baby is in breech position ,though doctors suggest trying to turn over the baby but it is a very painful process and success rate is not high moreover you still have couple of weeks to go and the baby might turn during this time . It is usually normal to have baby in breech position ,though it' s not common but some percentage of women go thru it , like me ...
I had a c-section and do not regret it at all , baby' s safety is more important than going thru c-section.

so All the best and good wishes for you and the baby ..

Regards
Rakhi

Neha , Sorry couldn´ t reply before , My experience to tell you honestly was very good , my husband was with me in the operating roon and I was awake the whole time , no pain atall , could feel her being pulled out , saw the baby the momment she came out .I was walking after couple of hours and was able to nurse our baby as soon as she was given to me and frankly never for a moment did I feel any pain , uncomfortable once a while but never pain , maybe it was just the joy of having our little one . In 4 days I was discharged and was active immediatley after I came home . My daughter is 7 months old now and I don´ t regret having a C-section till this date .

Any question , feel free to ask .

regards
Rakhi

Thank you Rakhi,

Dr. has suggested me to wait for couple of weeks otherwise we have to go for C-section. My fist one was normal delivery. So i m bit afraid about C-section. Now i will be completing 30th week. I can feel lot´ s of movements but the thing is i can still feel baby´ s head is up. Could you please let me know your experience with C-section

Thanks & Regards
Neha

Dear All,

I'm Dr. Meghna Bharath. I'm a strong proponent of Natural Birthing.

In the run-up to becoming a Mom myself, I prepared for Natural birth and delivered naturally. Recently I encouraged and supported my younger sister and close friends deliver naturally as well [through remote advice, since we were across a 10-hour timezone :)].
