verne replied. hmm let me address this situation. I am not against weight loss this way, trust me, i have done it twice, and still doing it, and i have done a very good job infact.
But these fad diets dont work ( that is why i had to lose weight twice, i gained it back ).
The best way to lose weight, is physical exercise. No amoun of pills, or crash diets are going to help you lose weight, and that is the SAD SAD truth. I wait here in hope that someday there might be pills or something, but there is nothing.
When you diet, your body goes into a starve mode, and it spends less energy than it should, therefore you have to diet harder! Not to mention when you diet, you lose out on all precious vitamins and other such stuff.
1. carbohydrate free diet- is a stupid notion, and people who came out with it should be whipped to death. carbs are needed to jump start the energy system ( as i sadly found out in the human physiology book ). if you dont have carbs in your system, and start producing energy from fats, which is good for awhile, cause fats are getting burned. After some time ketosis develops ( google it ) too much fat burning results in ketosis, which causes coma. So use minimal amounts of carbs to jump start the energy, and then let it lead on to burning fats. Restrict your carbs, dont remove them.
2. Protein all diet - is another mistake. your body can take limited amount of protein, because if it takes more, the kidneys are damaged, permanently. So i think you know what would happen.
The best way, is to have everything in a diet, carbs 35%, fats 25% and the rest protein. Exercise regularly, and eat less than what you spend, and you shall achieve weight loss. I could loss a pound in one day, how? i just need to go trekking or walking over all the whole town, and VIOLA! i lose one pound in a day. I would also be down in bed for muscle cramps and dehydration,foot sores, and a god awful sun tan, but i still lost a pound in a day, didnt i?
When it comes to taking care of your body, dont take chances. The best way to start a diet routine, is first consult a dietician to mak a personalised weight loss program, i dont need to tell you that every body is different.
