Dear Archie,

I got my T.I.F.F.A U/S scan done last wednesday.

Here are the measurements : (I dint understand some of the terms in the report,Would be great if u can help me with these terms)

BPD - 46 mm
HC - 167 mm
AC - 140 mm
FL - 32 mm

Avg. Gestational age - 19 wk 4 days.
Scan EDD - 27.01.07 (19 W 4 D)
LMP EDD - 20.01.07 (20 W 6 D)
LMP - 13.04.06 (Cycle Length : 30 D)

E.FL.WT - 301 gms
FL.HEART RATE - 133 bpm

Cervix : 30 mm.INTERNAL OS is closed.

Can you please throw some light on the abbreviated terms i see in the report and also,I am not sure how my expected date moved ahead by 1 week per scan reports ! What could be the reason ?

YOu can google to find long forms for each of the abbreviation.
I can tell you what sense the date makes.
you baby is a week behind from Last Menstrual Period based EDD, not a concern cause it's still less than 14 days and fair for the gestation. The measurments for head, abdomen and longest bone are fair for the expectation and that baby is little over 10 Oz, which is again great (between 8-12 Oz). I see no concern as your cervix is long enough to get you not worried.
I notice two things missing
1. Amniotic fluid level
2. comments on placenta.

placenta is on anterior side that's to wards your tummy skin not towards the spine. Not a major concern today, but sometime movements can be erratic and you won't feel each single movement. It's not a problem as long as you feel some on time to time.

Thank you very much for clarifying archie :) . Feeling much better after your reassuring message that things are fine with the kid.

These were the comments in the report :

Single Live Foetus
Amniotic Fluid is adequate.
Placenta is AnterioFundal.Grade - I Maturity.

No obvious congenital anomalies.

Any idea what is Anteriofundal placenta ?
