Its too early to start preparing .But by your 7th month you should prepare your hospital bag for you and baby shopping since i don't know you are from US or india sounds like US you should buy car seat ,baby clothes, wipes, baby soap/shampoo,oil for message , blanket , diaper baby(clothes or throwable your choice),baby medical kit alonge with nail cutter(made only for the baby),stroller/bouncer/swing your choice
alteast for you to keep you guys going for a while since you are saying you will be all alone here (US) it is not advisable to wait for the last moment and 7th month is a better time .And believe me i had one alone here this will be my second round we were fine just did little shopping in 7th month to help with the transaction you think what he don't have to go through the labour and stuff he can run and get stuff if you were in india there are ppl. who could run but why at the last moment there use to be a believe if something happen to baby ( i will pray for all the mom this never happen to anyone science is advance now when your mom/MIL time time was diff. you can't control certain think positive ) but do shopping in 7th month or later take care

Hi golden,

Presently its too early to think of preparing stuff for baby.
But by 7th month u will have to think of preparing ur bags.

Infact u shoulld have plenty of clothes to change for the baby.
These preparations cannot be skipped though its not required now.

Your doctor will herself/himself suggest you what all to prepare for in the 8th month.

Hey Golden,

I didn't understand your query. Can you explain in more detail on what you mean by \";preparing for a newborn baby\";. Do you mean like how to take care of the baby, how to bathe the baby, how to breastfeed and etc things?

If Yes, then I think it's early for us to think of these things as we still have 6 more months for delivery. And, I was told that when the time comes, we will be automatically able to handle all these things. But, if you want, you can read baby magzines or articles on internet for these things once in a while. It will not only ease the tension but also prepare us in advance to handle things efficiently!!!

But, my suggestion is don't worry on these things. Just relax and enjoy. Though I am telling you like this, even I feel really tensed sometimes as this is my first pregnancy and I am 23yrs old and just have no experience on these issues at all. I am elder in my house, so I didn't come across this type of baby handling issues any time. But, I think God is there to give us all the strength and ability to handle the baby :-). So let us be cool!!

Everything else is fine and hope the same from you. Take care and my best wishes are always with you!!

Regards,
blessed_mom

Hi blessed_mom,

Am sorry for nt being specific, by "preparing for newborn" i meant buying stuff for the baby like his clothes n all the other related stuff. Since ppl say that u shud nt buy anything in advance, my mom n mil said dnt buy anything now,buy later,n since am alone here with my hubby, so ultimately i'll have to buy all the things, wht bt u ?? I know we still have time to buy stuff also, but the query came in my mind so thot of asking u all. Hope am able to explain my point this time.

gud luck n have a safe pregnancy :)
