My daughter has not passed stool since 3 days. Today morning she was very uncomfortable after having her cereal. So I called her doc. he was not avilable so I called him on his cell. And he insulted me a lot. He said I should not call on cell if it is not urjent. ( in very bad sentence). And my daughter too was crying at one side. I really got shocked and did not know what to do. I passed some urine (oh! I am telling this to u all only, not going to tell even My husband)
I am still in a shocked state.

Do you think I would have not called on his cell?? But he has talled me so many times \";feel free to call anytime on cell\";.

Have you got insulted anytime?? How do you react?? Am I reacting too much?

My main problem is its very difficult to change the doctor where I stay. so I have to go to him only. I am still crying while writing this. Pl. help

Its really bad the way doc reacted. we docs have been taught to be vey calm when with the pts a s they r already down with the illness. May be doc was having bad day.

For constipation u can try even suppositaries if it is very bad. if u r in India I can tell u which one to try. ck replied. Hi Neetu,

It is very bad the doctor reacted that rude. Where do u live? In India or abroad? If it is abroad I will be shocked too. Next time when u meet him, u can ask him in a relaxed manner if u can call him on cell or not, why he asked to feel free to call on cell and reacted that way. Also I would say you should let your husband also know what you went through, he might also give u a better insight about the whole scene. But I feel no need to change doctor for this matter. May be he had a bad day. If he keeps doing that again and again, u can think of changing the doctor.

About constipation, stop cereal, give just bm/formula till it eases a little. Give oatmeal cereal for few days.

If you feel your daughter is visibly uncomfortable then maybe you could try giving her gripe water...it helps...people say so does prune juice...
water is the best remedy though...give her more water.
Don't feel too bad about your doctor's reaction...my doc has also been rude to me once when I called him on his mobile(he was driving home at that time)...they might be having a bad day afterall. So just don't take it to heart. If nothing works for your daughter, take her to the doc. He might recommend something. Usha replied. Hi Neetu
Im from Feb Board, I keep checking messages on this board too, its indeed sad the way the doctor reacted to you, My daughter who is now 4 months old was taking 2 days to pass stool, my mom suggested to make her drink castor oil 1 spoon in the morning and 1 spoon in the evening, this really helped & she was able to pass properly, I tried this for 3-4 days, it got regularised and now I have stopped using it.

Preeti replied. Its ok for babies to get consipated even till a week.. I remember preetha adviced us the same some time ago...so may be Dr got irritated...take it easy dear...try to increase her liquid intake...give gripe water regularly...No need to change Dr...its quite possible tht he may be busy in somethg else...just say sorry and forget...continue ur routine...
