Hi,
Iam into 33rd week of my pregnancy and its my first one.I came to know that if the pains doesnt start automatically till the given due date then doctors induce some pains and try for the delivery. If that also doesnt work out then they go for c-section.

I would like to know the situation when the induced pains need to be given. Why the pains don't start automatically ?

pls guide me on this.

Rgds,
Kitti

Pains need not be induced, doctors normally wait till 10 days after due date.

During this time they monitor babies health and the aminoitic fluid, if the fluid starts drying up and they feel its a danger to the baby, they mybe ask you to get admitted and have you induced.

So one week before your due date, be physically active, go for long walks,
as since 10 days before due date the baby is fully developed and if the mother is active, she will herself induce pains by such walks, you wont need to be induced or hv c -section. Always when on walks ask someone to be with you, carry some water, dont get dehydrated. In India we have a sad culture of pregnant women lying on bed all day long, they gain too much fat and get csection

Dear All,

I'm Dr. Meghna Bharath. I'm a strong proponent of Natural Birthing.

In the run-up to becoming a Mom myself, I prepared for Natural birth and delivered naturally. Recently I encouraged and supported my younger sister and close friends deliver naturally as well [through remote advice, since we were across a 10-hour timezone :)].
