I would defiantly recommend that any lady who is pregnant to take prenatal classes . I had attended class at Asha Foundation last year . There is instructor by name Priya Srinivas ’s whose classes were fantastic . She seems to best in Indiranagar area and Banglore.!! She is very experienced and has been conducting these classes for past few years now. You can get the details from her website by searching her name on google.

Hi. i recently went to columbia asia hospital for NT scan. they took my cell no and e mail id and said they ll inform about the ante natal classes which is there for entire 9 months seems. i have not got any info further. I m consulting Dr.Poornima ramesh who is a very nice lady.. if u get any info regarding the ante natal classes in columbia asia, i request u to post details here. thanks

Hi All
Firstly let me clarify. Lamaze is a philosophy and not all prenatal classes [in fact hardly any in India] follow that philosiophy. Most classes in India are prenatal and very rarely are the instructors really trained and certified as there is no such certification available in India. I was lucky that we are in Pune and I was able to attend Positively Pregnant at the Jehangir Apollo. But when I had asked for my sis in law in B' lore they told me that while they were running Positively Pregnant for a while through Asha Medical [mentioned in one of these mails,] they broke that association in 2007. A prenatal class should have physical exercises, breathing exercises and lots of other elements but most importantly raise your confidence levels and increase your knowledge base. I guess you could try one of the Apollo hospitals in B' lore, at least they will have the infrastucture and a good standard. I really found the classes useful. But please don' t think they are Lamaze classes.

I was tols Columbia Asia has lamaze classes and my gynae too recommended going there. I called them up couple of times..each time I am told they are in the process of finalizing the sessions and will intimate me. Its been more than a month now.

Manipal conducts such type of classes. Also heared one famous gyno clinic (Dont know name )which is close to Ulsoor lake also conducts such type of classes but they started from 14 weeks.

These classes are separate and anyone can join. One physiotherapist satyaprabha (I am not sure v much for name) conducts such classes there. Details u can find out from manipal hospital.

Dr Renu Arora conducts prenatal, postnatal and lamaze classes in Indira nagar.
