hello iam kusuma from chennai iam married. i have long silky hair . i have a vow of offering my hair in tirupati i.e shaving full head. iam feeling very fear to shave my long hair.can any one tell suggestions and precautions to take before and after head shaving and can any one send there expereince and photos to share with me so that i can't be to nervousness to shave my head in tirupati. srinivas replied. dear kushma

i have seen yr message. Generally ladies offering hair at tirumala. dont be nervous. Pl offer hair. Now ladies barber also appointed. U may choose shave wiht ladies barber. LEt us pray god to give good health and wealth to all yr family. Yr self alongwith family are making headshave.

Many women with long silky hair regularly get tonsured in Tirumala. There is no precaution or anything to take before or after. Since it is a religious offering, please keep the hair clean before offering. And get the headshave done in the proper sequence. i.e. climbup the hills (if you are going by foot), tonsure at Kalyanakatta, a holy dip in Swami Pushkarini and THEN ONLY Darshan of Sri Venkateshwara.

Tonsure is a great spiritual experience. Do it with reverence and joy, not with fear and anxiety. Do not worry about what others say, hence do not feel nervous. Instead enjoy the process and its aftermath. Some shyness may be inevitable, but on the whole be proud to show your bald head. Do not hide it in a scarf.
