Hi all,
Here r some suggestions for all travelling to India....thought i wld share them with u.
1. Call the airlines in advance & book bassinett seat. Keep verifying it.
2. Carry both stroller & carrier...u may need both...
3. If baby is formula fed...carry very hot water in a flask...& a bottled water....mix both to get luke warm water for mixing the formula....try avoiding to take hot water offered on plane..they r not hygienic...
4. Carry extra baby clotes & a change of shirt for urself...
5. Lots of bibs, burp clothes
6. carry all needed medicined...like tylenol etc...even thermometer...just in case be ready for everything...as a safety measure
7. IMP carry warm clothes for babies...as they tend to get during the long flight...carry a cap to cover the head...Ask for hood for the bassinette...some may have...it keeps off the cool air blowing directly to the baby's face...warm blankets....toys
8. IMP carry some snaks for u as u may have to skip food if u r travelling alone...so u can still have energy like some cereal bar....if needed carry a tylenol for urself as the journey can be hectic for u as well....
9. Take plenty of rest before u begin the journey...I know that is 1 thing not possible :-)
10. try to carry everything in one bag, so that ur hands r free to carry the baby or push the stroller....
11. Be prepared to take care of the baby on ur own...cant rely on air hostess as they will be busy...
12. If needed take ur neighbours help...
13. dont expect ne Indian guys to help u...they will just watch how u will try & manage on ur own...(my experience...no1 came foward to help me even when i was struggling alone)...
Ok i wont bore with ne more details....just mail me if u need more info...or u can call me....let me know. Hope this helps...
Luv to all kidos,
Chaya
