Normal Delivery:Columbia Asia Hospital

I' m in my 8th month and going to have to change my Gynae. The one I' m seeing right now does not visit Columbia Asia and I am not going to be able to go to Manipal.

Can any one suggest a good Gynae who goes to Columbia Asia? I don' t mind going to a private clinic around Indiranagar area.
Any experiences at Columbia Asia?
Does the hospital support epidurals?

Appreciate any and all suggestions.

CA is a very, nice modern and friendly place. I highly reccommend the place thanks to a good personal experience. I stay in RT Nagar. My Gynaec was Dr Sushila Shetty (Clinic is at Ulsoor, behind manipal center) She is very well known and operates at Mallya and C-Asia

Service at Columbia Asia

Hi,

I read your comment on CA. I planned to go there for my delivery which is due in Aug 1st week. My gynaec is Dr. Gita Muliyil and she consults there.

I happened to read a very bad experience of CA in MouthShut and was a little perturbed. Have you been to CA for your delivery? How was the experience? Also, most of the cases that I hear have been a C-Section? Do you have any idea of how many Normal Delivery cases happen in CA?

Can you please help me in this regard ´ cause I am planning to check out anoher hospital called Koshy´ s in Ramamurthy Nagar if CA is not good?

Hello Niroopa,

I am 31 weeks pregnant now and plan to go to Columbia Asia (CA) for my delivery. I consult Dr. Gita Muliyil who visits CA. She has her clinic in Jal Valyu Vihar Quarters, Kalyanangar and is available on all weekdays between 6-9 PM. She is a nice, friendly lady.

I paid a visit to CA. Its a nice hospital with very clean rooms and freindly staff. I had a look at the delivery room, baby ICU, wards etc. Maybe you can just drop in there and ask them to show you around.

Hi Anitha,
Thanks for your posting.....I had been to CA and was very impressed indeed. However, I happened to meet Dr. Shenoi from Indiranagar after that and she was of the opinion that the hospital still falls short in Neo-natal Care dept and lacks its own blood bank. These things pose a problem if (God forbid!) one has some emergency. I have decided to go to Manipal but still might land up in CA since my parents live close to it. But that is only as a worst case scenario.
I suggest you keep your option open and check out some well established hospital, if you can...
