Hi,
I know this questions must have been asked previously, but I am new to this board and I will trully appreciate the response to this.
Over the years, I have developed server dark circles around my eyes and I have tried every possible creams out there for dark circles ( I live in US). Nothing seems to work.
Please let me know if you know of any remedy for the dark circles. I will really appreciate it.
I am not sure if age has anything to do with it. I am 40.

lemon and honey are the best of bleaches. the results you get out of lemon and honey are far better than the ones you would buy for hundreds. there are several ways of bleaching:

1) Everyday bleach:

1/2 teaspoon honey,
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

apply on the face before sunrise for 10/ 15 minutes and wash off with besan (kadala maavu). this protects the skin from tanning. cleanses the face and removes excess oil and keeps skin fresh and clean.

2) Twice a week bleach cum facial:

1/2 teaspoon besan,
1/2 teaspoon oatmeal,
1/2 teaspoon honey,
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice,
few drops of dabur gulabari (rose water)

mix all together, apply on face and allow it stay for 15 - 20 minutes. then rinse off. this will bleach your skin, remove white and black heads and dead skin, making your skin smooth, clear, fair and soft.

you can also use apricot scrub every alternative days. wash face with soap, apply apricot scrub generously on face and neck, run the tips of your finger in clockwise direction for a minute, then in the anticlock wise direction for another minute, then rinse off. this will remove white and black heads, and the dead skin. (if you use the above said pack (twice a wek pack) after scrubbing with the apricot scrub, the results will be fabulous.)

without a good facial, bleach is a waste. home facials and bleaches are the safest and the best.

these bring immediate results, though using it regularly will bring best of results.

Your query is every woman's query and a nightmare. I had the darkest of circles. and i had not left any cream in the market that could lighten the skin under the eyes untried! But, once somebody from a south indian village advised me to rub whole nutmeg on a clean rough stone (any clean surface for that matter) to get a smooth paste and apply it under the eyes twice or thrice a day for 2 months and it did wonders. it did lighten my skin under the eyes removing the circles. although i have lost the dark circles, i have not ceased using it. now i use a little almond rubbed along with the nutmeg or supplement the almond for a drop of almond oil and this make sthe skin look bright and in tone with the color on the rest of face. one thing i had to remeber - always make a fresh paste and never use nutmeg powder. nutmeg rubbed with sandal and turmeric also works good. you may get whole nutmegs in any spice stores in los angeles.
