You had written about giving Tia bath twice everyday. Do u actually give her 'cold' water bath too? I mean... my MIL insists on pouring very hot water on Rishi... and its cold here now and very windy. With my mom, I used to give him bath with warm water only.

What exactly do u mean by a sippy cup? I have got one for Rishi which is like a glass and the lid has got three holes in it. Is that the one u r talking about? My mom says he can be given that only after a year... am confused.

Do u feed Kich cerelac through a bottle? Can we do that? I give him with an infant spoon and the process takes forever.

Which banana do u give Kich? The yellow one or the green one?

Oh my God, I am mom for six months and still have all these silly doubts.

What.. your Mil wants to cook Rishi or something? Sippy cup -it's alil too early. Only oncec they learn to navigate the cup themselves, is it effective..

And i read that your MIL is also against Rice etc. Take her along when you go to a ped. Get her ot ask. ALL docs insist on starting Rice and later veggies at 6 months.. yaaar earlier tho they used to feed upma and idlis to babies na? Where was your MIL in those days?

I don't give Tia bath twice..I sponge her in the morning..if it is hot,then a halka garam almost cold(but never cold-cold) sponge(a very wet sponge)& a warm water one if it is cold(rather rainy) & in the evening a full fledged bath after a garm tel maalish w/luke warm water...never hot water..the water should be ok to feel if you put in your elbow..but now I do it out of my own mood !then I end it w/a lotion massage..this b'coz of the extreme weather(dry-both hot&cold)out here & alsob'coz earlier Tia had rough skin..for the heat rashes(slight on her back just below the neck line)I have been asked to dust some baby powder..

You are right about the thingie being a sippy cup..just make sure that the spout isn't too hard a plastic..just don't force it..sometimes its just easy to give a regular open cup/glass to 1yr + who have never been exposed to a sippy before..& try it only if Rishi is keen..its too much of a pressure thing & they may cough on the liquid..try it.. no harm tho'

DO NOT EVR PLS GIVE CEREAL THRU' THE BOTTLE....
Time & again I have come across feeding probs in kids w/the origins leading here..this had started out w/moms feelingh that the kids will feel full & sleep better etc...but believe me the brain doesn't recognise this as \";eating \"; ,this remains \";drinking\"; & if the baby feels full w/this he will never make an effort to learn to eat..

Vani it takes 9 months to have a baby...so pls have patience ( enormous amount of it)while feeding Rishi...children take time for them.. its such a huge thing..don't pressurise him..you know they can sense it..but make a huge activiy time for him..set him his special feeding area/chair w/the big show of his bib going on his neck..tell him about the cute spoon, the funny cartoons on his bowl..and what you made for him..& watch as he looks forward to this huge drama eagerly put up by Mamma ..he will surely begin to look forward to meal times..as mentioned before be consistent,be patient & have faith..everything takes time..
also if u r toooooooo busted,sit w/him in the balcony..as he wathces the birds/trees aroung him,feed him while you read /day dream !I do that...esp when in the evenigns & I'm toooooooo tired to open my mouth..I prop Tia in her stroller,she watches the boys scream & play basketball & I go thru' the mail /talk to Tapash(on spkr phone)since Tia gets greatly annoyed if she isn't incl in any conversation...

Vani..one day you'll be a mom of a 26yr old & will still have doubts about the girl Rishi is dating..so don't OMG !!!
