Hi everyone, my daughter will turn 1yr on25th. She has being in breast milk since her birth.. not a good formula drinker. I just started Lacto free formula since 4 days. She drinks that with a little bit of force.

I want to know.. how much oz is required for an 1yr old?? I give her a total of 4 oz sometimes or 3 oz a day. Also can you suggest... is this the right time to wean her from BM?? She was not keeping well since we came from our 1 mth India trip this saturday. So havent stopped Breast feeding. But she is just using it as a pacifier and suddenly ends up chewing. Since yesterday she got back to dhal-rice and little solid foods. So thinking of weaning her.

I think she should be having more milk . Atleast 10-12 oz per day minimum . Try giving her like 2 oz at differnt time intervals, if she is fussy about it and also try giving as milk shakes etc. You can also add more milk to her cereals and that way she will intake more milk.
If you are a non working mom and you are comfortable to feed her BM for some more months then its good..but i tried weaning my son as soon as he turned 1..it took me 2 months to wean him completely. BM is good for babies expecially if they are sick ...but you need to make sure you are giving enough of other solids. Try including cheese ,biscuits etc to his diet.
