Do you get your menses without delay? How do you cope with delayed menstruation? What causes delayed menstruation? Partiksha replied. I have started drinking lot of water as it is good for health. I used to drink only two- three glasses of water each day. Now I drink more than one and a half liters of water daily. I have noticed that there was a delay in menstruation cycle when I started drinking lots of water and it is continued after getting menses too. I am not able to understand what is wrong. I have never experienced such type of delayed menstruation in my life. I think it is all because of water I drink. Can water cause so much of changes in the body? I am really going mad because of this. I am not able to decide whether to stop or continue drinking too much of water. I am just twenty years old now and I am worried about complications due to delayed menstruation in my future life. Subhadra replied. Exercise and yoga cause the problem of delayed menstruation. When regular exercise or yoga is performed it brings changes in body. This takes a lot of time to adjust with the changes in the body. This is why delay in menstruation is caused. Heavy exercises and yoga like power yoga can cause such problem. Because of such activities weight loss is caused which is one of the reason for delayed menstruation.
