Does anyone have a list of fruits/veggies to avoid during preganancy?

I read in some old posts that dates should be avoided. Is it true?

my gyne said that one shud avoid taking extra salt in our food,as it will raise our BP and will cause a breathing problem for our baby.

Yes its true. You should avoid eating dates for atleaset first three months.

Dates are good source of fibre / iron and the doctors recommend taking that. i had dates a lot during my first pregnancy and am eating that for this time too.

Avoid eating spicy foods
Avoid eating outside foods (resturant foods, chat items)
Certain type of fishes such as salmon, swordfish, tuna, etc.

You can eat all Vegetables and Fruits. Avoid drinking cola drinks, restrict coffee or tea to 2 cups per day. drin 6-8 glasses of water.

I got this info from a website. i thought of posting the link, but you cannot post a link here....just google foods to avoid you get plenty of results.

Geeta, i guess they say not to eat dates because of IRON in them, which will add constipation. am not sure though.....but seeing your replies, i am going to stop eating dates until my second trimester.

hi Nidhi,
Today only my gnyaec told me not to have Pineapple and Papaya.
I think all veggies are safe.
If anyone knows more bout the foods to avoid during pregnancy plz let me know!
