Normal Delivery:Abdominal Cramping
2007-03-05
Name: Lekha

Hi all, I am 4-5 week pregnant now. I just got to know about my pregnancy few days before. I am having mild abdominal cramps. They are period like cramping but not quite often. I want to know if its normal? I called my doctor but I am in US and not getting appointment earlier than 29th. I am all worried and dont know what is wrong? Can someone please tell me if they have been through this or any advice please?

Thanks all of you for your replies. I am not having any kind of discharge. I called nurse and she said everything is normal and I can continue my normal routine. It really cheered me up reading your replies, Thanks ladies. I also got an earlier appointment not that early... but 10 days earlier than previous one.

I think Lalithas suggestion is very good. Call the nurses hotline and ask them for advice. The sooner u get to meet the Dr, the better it will be.

Hi,
Sometimes there is cramping when the uterus stretches to accomodate the baby. So don' t worry too much. As long as there is no bleeding[especially fresh blood] u should be fine. The Dr will be able to do a check up to reassure u that all is well.
Bye.

Dear All,

I'm Dr. Meghna Bharath. I'm a strong proponent of Natural Birthing.

In the run-up to becoming a Mom myself, I prepared for Natural birth and delivered naturally. Recently I encouraged and supported my younger sister and close friends deliver naturally as well [through remote advice, since we were across a 10-hour timezone :)].
