We are flying to India in few days with my 11 mths old. I am too excited for the trip as my baby haven't meet any of our relatives yet. But i don't know whether i could make her sit on my lap for such a long period, as she may want to roumaround now.

one of my friends suggest me to give benadryl to her so she will sleep most of th time in journy.But i am not sure whether its safe to give it without reason..

pls suggest something..how u did ur travel successfully with babies.

Hi Anaya,
Everything will be fine if u r prepared for it.
I went to India when my son Anish was 2 1/2 month old when i came back he was 6th month old,Now he is 8 and 1/2 month.
I travelled alone sometime i used to go to sleep so at that moment one of the indian lady who was travelling helped me by taking him and moving around.so there will be some one who will help.
Never ever give baby medicine unless needed.
As Suki told try to give lit solid food never force them if ur baby is breadfeeding then thats great.while travelling bec it will be new to them so they may get upset and choke.
Make sure to take toys,and ear plug as many babies will have ear problem while taking off and landing of the plane.
Iam sure u have taken plenty of diapers.
They will enjoy when u move around the plane.
And have a very very fun trip and safe journey.
Love to ur baby.

Hi Anaya,

I am traveling to India this month end.. my doc asked me to take plenty of rest before the travel coz our lil ones wont allow us to relax in flight..

he asked me to take some books, toys etc to engage him.. dont give any medicine unless and until it is advised... i am sure our lil ones wont trouble much..

when the flight departs make sure ur baby is with ear plugs coz sometimes it gives pain for them....

dont stuff food too much in the journey.. if he takes milk that is well n good.. give him lil bit solids then and there so that he doesnt poop often...

hi ananya,
i am not able to give u travel tips as i staty in india and havent had long flight trip so far with my kid ..but i can surely say NEVER GIVE SOME MEDICINE WITHOUT DOC'S ADVICE ..y do u want to give him a medicine which he is not supposed to take ? it will spoil a healthy baby and lead to complecations.i know about benadryl..its a strong madicine docs give for us adults for cough..it makes us drowsy(adults)..y do u want to give that to a 11 months kid ..
plz never listen to such advices ..
instead occupy ur kid with some games and with his toys ...
some of our friends can guide u withtips ..
have a safe and happy journey..

I have been visiting site and finally cld see posts. Rhea is doing good.Pretty active like other kids.she sings whole abc song and counts 1to 6 (her bro' s impact)
I have been busy since i joined work since Jan ,so my inlaws are here to help with kids.i terribley miss both kids during day.
