Thank you so much for replying my query ... Nowdays im having a hard time with hubby and MIL , my son who is 7 months and 1 week old can sit unsupported for 5 min , they telling my son is slow just like me , really feel bad abt this , always crying .... Greeshma when did ur daughter sit on her own , is it possible ? ..
Thanks ....
Anu replied. Hi Swati,
Don't worry. You have not done anything wrong. I have 14 month old son who I never made to do anything. My MIL use to drive me crazy by telling me to make him sit or make him stand, I never did.
I always thought Baby will do all this when physcially and mentally they are ready. One fine day when he was I think 6 or 7 months he sat with help of pillow, crawled when he was 10 months and started walking when he was 13 months.
As long as they are ok (per doc) and eat and sleep well..they will get to their milestone when they are ready.
Somehow some people are too eager to have their child reach milestones especially MIL's. Just ignore and don't feel bad.
Suki replied. Hi Swathi,
Babies growth development is not common.. each baby has its own pace in its development...
i know lota friends whose baby have their first teeth and stuff.. but my lil pranav hasnt started with his teething.. when i talked to doc, he said it will take its own time..
so dont worry about that.. ur inlaws and hubby are real excited about the baby growth.. as moms are very close to the baby they mighta shown their frustration to u..
in every place its kinda normal.. they will understand very soon... dont worry.. i am sure ur lil one will do milestone all togehter..
luv n tight hugs to your lil one

Greeshma replied. Hey Swathi,
Since there is nothing wrong you have done, you just need to ignore the scoldings..I never made Neha to sit..SHe sat on her own. Experts say that you need not push the baby to reach the milestones, he/she will do it naturally by their won..You are doing everything perfect for your baby and so ignore all the comments on this and have a great time with the baby:-) I am sure that your baby will appreciate all your efforts when he/she grows up:-)
BTW, whats the baby's name?
Regards,
Greeshma
Mommy replied. I think it's wrong on your in-laws part to scold you for not having taught your baby how to sit. Each baby develops differently. Every baby achieves the milestones at it's own pace. That does not mean they are any less better than the other babies. Also we should leave the baby to develop on it's own and not try to make it sit, stand or walk. Even without any training, you will be surprised that they will do it on their own one day. Until then let them be themselves and not push them to learn something new.

Dheeksha begun to sit when she was 6 months old.. i did not help her to sit.... i mean i bought her a bumbo seat and she sat in that ... maybe that would have helped... hey i dont think theres any mistake in your part.. each baby develops at its own pace... one of my friends baby never sat until he was 8 months... if you are very concerned abt this then talk to your ped abt it... i dont understand why your MIL and husband are scolding you for this.... If i were you i would ignore their scolding and keep acting normal...
