Crying & Colic:Evening Blues

My name is Prashant..I have a 7 week old baby, who's on a combination of mother's milk & formula ( earlier Lactogen and now Nan 1).
Our baby becomes very restless and cries a lot for no apparent reason, particularly in the evening..between 6 to 10. This is worrying us a lot and we're wondering if any one can offer any helpful suggestions. Thanks a lot for your time.

Colic

From what you are saying your baby has colic.
Don't worry; when your baby is crying massage it's stomach and hold its legs up, this will release trapped gas

Trust me this does work and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Colic usually lasts until they are 12 to 14 weeks. My baby is 16 weeks now and she no longer has colic.

We did everything we could. We used Infacol, colief and we changed the bottles to help (dr Brown) - In the UK

Also don’t hold your baby too much when she is colicky

Like I said don’t worry Colic will go away

Hi rashmi

Dont worry abt ur kids crying its quite normal..New born babies will cry mostly in the evening time after 5 which is very normal,i got the same problem n my kid use to cry a lot my midwife told me that its very normal we can feed them every half an hour during this time n if the baby is colic after the feed hold the baby upright for at least 10-20mts.

Nothing to worry

Your baby wants to play with you as he is bored during the time you have mentioned. If it all he was colicky baby he would be crying all over the day.

I would advice you divert him around by taking him out to the park, playing with by making different facial expression and above you can start talking like you talk to the elders around. He will start learning to talk.

sounds like colic

hi,
seems your baby has a colic. nothing to worry though. try soothing ur baby by rocking, running a faucet/tap, a hair dryer, vacuum cleaner. such \";white noise\"; helps to soothe babies. u should also try changing his formula. often gassiness causes a lot of discomfort. make sure ur baby burps after every feed.
