Hi Mommies,

Oflate i am kinda held up with Pranav .. cldnt reply often..

lately Pranav has got eating probs.. he doesnt take solids .. not even milk properly.. he is still being BF and doesnt take bottle or sippy cup....

whenever i give him solids he cries and becomes very very aggressive.. i am really worried.... feel like he is losing his weight.

i have an apt with ped today.. have to check what he is gonna say..

any suggestions for food intake are welcome..

luv to all kiddos..

hello suki,
i dont think so forcing him to eat solids is a better idea...he may begin to hate eating it ..
just wait for him to get himself ready for it ...mean while let him have his liquid diet..try milk shakes with differnt fruits ..try him mashed fruits / potatos/ carrots etc..
but keep on trying differnt food items daily..do not force him if he doesnt likes it ..
i can understnd ur worries ..but no point in forcing him i think so..
all the best..
regards,
aparnaa

Hi APARNAA ,

My son is also very fussy at times . But I do the same as others . I entertain him while feeding. I give him a spoon or any toys to play with or put ont he tv...that he if he is busy and distracted he eats .
Also if he is fussy try giving him in small quantities at 2 hour interval.Try giving him fruit juices or fruits . Make sure you mash the food well or even dilute it with milk if he doesnt like too solid.

Take care,
Disha

dear suki,
do not worry ..
just make him entertained when feeding him..
i take him around the house , show him the mirror , give him toys to play with , run with him ..i do everything to make him complete his food ..
do not force him when he isnot ready to eat..give him a sip of water inbetween and when he plays again just try giving him food ..
try him differnt foods ...

all the best..

Hi Suki, don't be worried. I agree with Veenu. Even Nakshi gave me tough time introducing solids. Keep them engaged while feeding.I take her out or to the other kids and feed her. She becomes busy eating and playing. I am giving her rice with whatever curry mommy makes. She is ok with it.

Doctors here say as long as the baby is active and breastfed, we need not worry about their eating of solids. Give them sometime.

goodluck

Suki - Let us know how the doc appt goes. Is Pranav teething???

My suggestion - Not sure will work or no but u can try.
- Try feeding him by taking him to children park, sometimes it works great!
- Give him fruits instead of veggies like apple,banana...

Love to Pranav.
