Hello ira,
Lucky gal,(touchwood)Already in the 14th week,I' ve 4 more weeks 2 cum there.Anyways I' ve heard First 10 weeks chances of miscarriage is more. So,I' m lucky enuff, crossed that stage allready.

Oh,thats a nice way of wearing pants for few more weeks, but i guess In India we dont get pregnancy band:-(..so salwars kameez,n skirts only for me!4m when can we start buying maternity clothes?do u have any idea?coz I guess 4m 4month onwards our cute belly will have even the more cuter baby bumps,n 4m then on our tummy increases in size,so I' m bit perplexed so as to when do we start buying maternity clothes?

So in Geneva is it cold all along the year?Coz when I was in geneva, during december ,it was freezing cold.(atleast for me,whosz not used to Minus temperatures.Delhi cold also is new to me coz basically I' m 4m south.).But I must tell u,I just love winters, rather than summers. So how long have u been in Geneva?I' ve shifted to noida just an year back.

My doc didnt want me to take iron supplements in the first trimester. The reason may be like u said,it gives nausea.Shesz going to take another blood test on my next visit,(ie march 26)By then I wud succesfully complete my 12 weeks.N after that still if my blood count is low she wud give me iron tablets..Meanwhile she asked me to eat black chana, jaggery, coz its rich in iron..Yes,I eat betroot daily in sum way or the other ie soup, juice, sabji blah blah.

Is it that I shd eat betroot during night time to get its effect more? Can u just clear this silly doubt of mine?
thanks a ton again.

yeah!!!
every week crossed is a milestone... i actually have a reminder set on my cell.. which tells me every wednesday how many weeks i have crossed ( like i would forget otherwise :-)) )

hmm.. In India you have an advantage.. you can wear salwar kameez... i absolutely love them.. but occasionally.. i had my mom send me two huge sized ones with a friend who was coming over :-).. but.. that' s for the summer...
when do we start buying maternity clothes? that' s really a BIG mystery... i don' t know that either.... i am just going on a need basis... one day i was in tears.. because none of my jeans fit.. so i went out and bought a pair of maternity jeans!1 and believe me.... they are really comfortable.. but then what do you know... the day i bought them.. i was pretty bloated (maybe GAS) and now.. they' re a few inches loose!!! anyway... they will come in use some time later..
now! we have a bowling party tomorrow... and i have nothing decent to wear.. until now.. i have been managing parties in my best salwar suits.. but can' t do that with bowling.. so i am off shopping today!!! so really.. in that department.. i am as lost as you are.
only thing is.. one of my friends.. she was underweight when she got pregnant.. she says, that by the time she delivered.. she had gained 20 kgs.. so i would advise you to buy few clothes whenever you need... because you don' t know what size you will be later!

hmm.. geneva is cold... from october-november to march.. then we have spring.. and really warm summers.... but the same as you.. i am from mumbai... so i had never seen extreme winters until i got here!! yeah! december is the worst!! i used to love winters... not anymore.. it' s just too gloomy without sunlight for me!!!! it' s grey all day long :-( atleast in india you see sunlight in winter!!
i' ve been in geneva for 3 &1/2 years now.. before that i was in the UK for abt 6 months after we were married....

yeah! i hope your anemia goes away.. but i am sure there' s nothing to worry because one of my friends told me she was anemic when she got pregnant... and she had to take iron supplements.. and her daughter is 11 now... and quite smart all round... so i am sure it does' nt affect much.
dunno about dinner time.. i guess as long as you eat iron rich foods .. it should be fine.. though i think.. don' t eat iron with calcium rich foods.. because calcium inhibits the absorbtion of iron..( or is it the other way round) but there is some conflict.. i remember my mom saying something like that.. that' s why you always eat calcium supplements in the morn and iron supplements in the evening... something like that!
don' t worry much meghnah! just keep up your eating of iron rich foods! i had anemia once.. it was around 9 and i ate iron supplements for a month! and the next time it tested 14!!! my mom was surprised... it just improves like that!
just enjoy your pregnancy! buy yourself new clothes..( we now have a reason to do that :-) )
and take care!! i am sure you' ll be fine by your next appt!
love
ira

Hi megs!
can´ t even think of wearing a saree!! i could´ nt manage it otherwise either!
yeah!! lucky you! you don´ t have to go out much! i need to go out to get groceries.. i have a french class... and i try to go walk everyday....
i did avoid parties for the first 2 months....of course.. after new year :-) but my friends keep calling us for dinner.... ( that way i don´ t have to cook :-D) so i had to wear salwaar kameezes for that.. because i discovered early on that when i wore pants.. i was uncomfortable throughout.. what with nausea and all!!
yess.. in maternity clothes.. you get jeans, trousers, skirts, midi dresses, tops, swimming costumes, maternity underwear and maternity bras too!
but know what! i am at a stage.. where maternity tops don´ t really look all that great! because they are made to show off your bumps! and right now.. my bump looks more like i am over eating.. than baby :-))
anyway! i did buy a pair of pants... and a top.. and a belly belt and a box of maternity underwears.. they´ re really comfortable!

i have told my dear hubby.. that i am going to buy one maternity clothing every month.. i think that´ s a decent amount! the weather will be changing every month too.. i plan to buy more dresses and skirts in summer :-)(maternity clothes are damn expensive here too )

don´ t worry about your weight right now... my friends say that you tend to lose most of it during the first year after your delivery... and yes.. you´ ll look better.. that friend i was telling you about..... she now is quite slim.. but not underweight.. a bit of baby-fat is good i guess...
mee!! i will have to work harrrd to lose what i gain!!! i already have a tendency to gain weight! and for the last 2 years i was into swimming and working out everyday and looong hikes (like for 4 hrs or so) with friends every weekend! and now.. everything has stopped!!! after baby i will have to start something.. though.. can´ t follow the same i guess.. things change with a baby i think :-)

wowww!!!! lucky you!!! first! you have a domestic maid!! and then you get to go to your mom´ s for 6 months!!!
hmm.. we have no domestic help here.. it´ s sort of a luxury over here....but hubby does the vaccuming part.. and i manage everything else.. it works.. because it´ s not so dusty over here!

regards my delivery.. we´ re in quite a confusion over here... if my husband gets transferred to UK in the next few months.. then i will have my delivery there... mom will come over. else.. if we stay here, we´ ll have the baby here... and if something is delayed.. then in june i will go to india to stay with mom! the problem is that my mom and dad both work.. so i am not so keen on going home for a long period.. because i only get bored sitting at home.. here atleast i have other things to do.. and friends!
anyway.. let´ s see what works out...

and yes.. i´ ve added you to my yahoo msgr as well...

let´ s see how bowling goes.. i think i am only going to watch today.. dunno if you should bowl in our condition! those bowling balls are quite heavy

my yahoo id is iramathur at yahoo
looking forward to hearing from you again!
love
ira

Hello ira,
Thats very true, evry week crossed is really a milestone for us now.. My reminder out here is my small lil brain.Evry thursday it signals me,now ur in this week.Hope my brain does not miss any thursday-)

Yes,out here we can even wear saree. But I find them very unmanagable.Whole of my pregnancy I´ ll not wear saree, other than one day ,ie 6,or 8th month we perform seemantha(ie god barai),may be that one day I wud be wearing it..Hope I´ ll fit into my salwars after 4 months. If not I shd also start purchasing huge salwar kameez:-)4m now on..

On a need basis, for atleast a month I can manage with my salwars kameez n skirts coz now I hardly get outside my home,Otherthan my doctor checkups,n visiting sum friends.Shopping also I dont go out much.May be after I complete my 3rd month I´ ll go full swing shopping..Oh,so in maternity clothes range u get Jeans too.I thought they were sumthing like track pants or pyjamas..Yes may be the jeans u bought will be useful to u after 4 months..So one thing I came to know, evry month as n when our tummy increases ,our maternity clothes also starts bcuming tight,so its better to buy one or two maternity jeans only evry month.

Hmm hope no one calls me here for party,or else evn I wud be lost buying clothes.Bowling party that sounds fun..Have a nice time there:-)n tell me what did u purchase for the bowling party?Dont we get maternity long dresses?I guess they too r comfy.Atleast we can wear them for 6,7 months.
The rate at which I´ m putting on weight, seems like Me being underweight is going 2 be history,n one day my friends r going to cite me as an example, that one time she was underweight:-)..I´ m happy atleast this way,I´ m going 2 be Fat:-)

Thats very true, after facing extreme winters may be I too will not like winters. As of now,I love dilli ki sardi:-).We planned our baby in such a way that I can cum back by december n therby escape extreme summers ie from june end(yes 6months I´ m off to my moms place) and njoy the lovely winter when I cum back with my bundle of joy:-).(since after delivery we have 2 stay 3 months at our moms place).Am lucky enuff I´ m cuming back to Noida by this year end:-)

So is ur mummy cuming for ur delivery there?Or ur cuming down 2 India? What do u do the whole day?ur working? How do u manage the household chores?do u have a domestic maid?Out here In India its easier to hire a domestic maid,I have hired one for just jadu pocha, reast all my work I do it myself.Infact I was doing jadu pocha all by myself, but since I came to know that I´ m pregnant,I hired one. They say,for easy delivery u have to do jadu pocha urself(not in the first 3 months, but we shd do it after 7 months.

Hope by eating iron supplements starting from next month, evn my condition will improove 4m 8 to 11 atleast. If not 14:-)
Yup,like the way u said, now we a strong reason 2 shop,so we will start shopping,n have u started to shop for ur baby?I did start..:-)
anyways take care n keep writing. My id is itsgotttabeme at yahoo .so u can mail me there also.or else we can add ourselves on yahoo messenger.what do u say?
so take care till then n happy bowling:-)
luv megs
