Hi all,

Aarush has completed his 9th month and is vaccination is due today ie.5th may. We called the paed to take an appointment. He told us a shocking news. He told that some infant died after giving this vaccine in tamilnadu. So govt has Banned this vaccine. But it has no prob if you are taking a vaccine of some private company.
I was very much upset. I knew that Aarush is eldest among the among all the kids of our board. Barish daughter is elder but since she is in USA so there is no measles vaccine needed there. So no one' s child in our board has given this measles vaccine to their kid.
From differnet source i got the info that this news is of 24th april and 4 infant died after giving this vaccine in tamilnadu.They got that batch number (which caused deaths) from Hyderabad. Ninety lakh measles vaccines procured from Indian Immunological Ltd in Hyderabad have been withdrawn now.
I am planning to put this vacction on hold for some days. Going to paed for the normal chkup of aarush and will let u know in case of any info i get from him.
By any chance any of ur friend' s who got this vacction done after 24th april. Please do let me know....

Where is Renu.... Her son Mayank is elder than Aarush. He is 15th of july born. She is not coming on this disscusion board since a long time. She could help me I suppose.

it is really a shocking and sad news. u know apoorva was born in india and her measles was due now. we consulted with her pead and got to know that here they dont give measles saperately. she will get it in her 12th month as one of the vaccine of MMR. anyways all i can say is that all of u should wait for some time if it is possible. let the matter sort out and let the health department remove all vaccines of the specific batch from the medical centers.

I am new to this group. This is a very important topic for all of us.
I have a baby boy who completed his 9 months on 30th of April but I have not got this vaccination done till now.
My friend has a daughter of the same age. She is planning to visit her paed and get the vaccination done tommorow.
Will keep everyone updated on what happens.

Shilpi smily replied. ya this is an important matter to share and u did a good job by raising this qn,even we were planing to consult pead to know more about this .Anwitha is going to complete 9 months by 18th may .we live in chennai.if there is no urgency in giving this dose we wait for sometime.
