As i read all ur queries and replies abt the tests you all had like amino... ,3rpl mrkr test etc...is these tests are compulsory for every mom?bcoz my doc has not askd me for such tests yet.i am also on my 20 th week n will soon be goin for an U/S in the coming month.pls help me out whether i am on my right path or not.......

Triple screen tests - usually it will be given as an option if you are below 35 yrs of age @ time of delivery or no fmly history of down syndrome and other defects. And only IF the triple screen tests results turn positive, the doctors will go for CVS or Amino to know further.....otherwise, these arent necessary. A normal blood test done initially is enough for the doctors to determine your pregnancy stage.....you will have a Glucose Tolerance test around 24-28 weeks and i guess that is it.

As i understand, it is not compulsory that all tests are done for all mums to be.
The docs do a preliminary blood test and an ultrasound and from those reports, determine the tests that are required for you... I did not have to go through any amino or cvs or markers because my doc did not prescribe them for me.
