Hi,

i have a very long hair which iam maintaining for more than 20 years, but now my family members has strictly told me that my head shave would happen on triupati during our visit to the temple in the last week of this month.. please let me how to get prepared on the day when my head will be shaved as i dont have the courage to see the hair falling which i have grown for years... and also the bald head.... please give me some advice to handle this and get my head shaved... also how much time it would take for the hair to grow as i am really nervous on this regard as this is the first time i am going to shave my head.. I have read your message. It was very said that your lovely long strands are going to be shaved this month end. I have seen so many young girls reluctantly sit in front of the barber and the barber shaves your long hair. It is especially painful to see your lovely long strands falling in your lap. I will one idea. Generally the barber applies more water. He then make it into two parts. He ties both sides hair into two knots. He then starts shaves from centre. So that they can sell the entire bunch without too many spill over of hair. When you sit in front of the barber, you just tell him not to tie in to two knots> let him shave you can see your lovely long strands of hair falls slowly and slowly at you can enjoy. Now that's you I advise all girls is to go regulerly to beauty parlour or saloons and get hair trimed or cut. At least if you had gone for 1/2 or 1 inch cut, you would have known how hair falls after it is cut. Don't worry. Be happy. Hair is defintely is going to grow. If possible you take some gel and give to the barber before shaving. Because mere applying water and shaving you will have heavy sensation.

I had my head shaved on last sunday at triupati.. my long hair has gone and i am bald now...my family hired an barber and got the head shave done near the cottage... i was crying helplessly seeing my hair falling in front of my eyes and the whole process was completed in few minutes leaving me bald and during the whole process my mom was saying that its okay to be bald for some time ,the hair would grow very fast and its for ur good we are getting ur head shaved..After the head shave mom applied chandan in my head and we had an good darshan... i have started going to my college but feels akward as my mom does not allow me to cover my head.. please let me know how much time it would take to grow hair rajan replied. No need to worry. Just sit before the barber with cross legged, rest shall be taken care by the barber. Just do what the barber saying, you will be in safe hands as the barbers are experts in shaving. But do not lift up the hands for shaving after your head shave, as it is a temple one should not shave their private hairs. sruthi replied. hey sandhya,

In tirupathi most of ladies and gents get thier headshaved. Even the ladieswith longhair surrender their hair to lord Balaji without any hesitation. Shave will take place only 5 to 7 mts. Barber will do very nicely. Dont be nervous and pray god and offer it.

u maintained it since 20 years.but getting it tonsured with in 20 minutes
it is so sad right.

Dont be nervous. Please read the articles related to tonsure experiences posted on this board by several women. After reading all these articles I could understand one thing for sure. Though a bit nervous, most of the girls do enjoy the tonsure process and the new look post their tonsure. moreover you are going to do it at a holy place like Tirumala. so dont be nervous and do it whole heartedly. Wish you all the very best. Hope you will look even more beautiful with the new look.
