Had my ultrasound done yesterday and am literally shattered after the findings. My LMP was on 19Aug,06 as per which the CGW should have been 9W4D as on yesterday. But as per the measurement of the fetal parameters, it came out as 6W3D. Also though the fetal pole is well visualized and small, the fetal cardiac pulsations were absent. My doctor was not sounding optimistic about the reports and she feels that it looks like arrested growth. She gave me a Progesterone injection (Sustain 200)and has advised me complete rest and wait and watch till next week. We will be doing an ultrasound done again that time. If the growth is not satisfactory then she would most probably advice a abortion.
Am so worried and just dont want to miss out on this wonderful experience. Based on your experiences please advise me on should I keep my fingers crossed and expect some miracle or will I be out from this May2007 group. Though I dont want to.....

I had same experience i was week 7 as per lmp but as per ultrasound i was week 5.My doc said the same thing that maybe my baby is not growing.We did blood test and another ultrasound to see if hcg level is going up or not.I am now week 14.. My baby is Growing and i am fine.Stay +ve and DONOT STRESS.its is very important to smile.everything happens for a reason so watever it is .. it is for ur and ur baby's benefit.Keep us posted archie replied. It could be serioud but not necessarily. Lets have fingers crossed.
I am however hopeful because you managed to see fetal pole. For some getting heart can take completion of 7 weeks so hopefully in next week you will see that.

did you face any gynecological condition before ttc or while ttc. Sometime you might have experienced anovulatory cycle followed by regular cycle and conceived so the delay of 3 weeks from LMP and actual gestation. Lets see if this is correct from your next sonogram.

Archie nimi replied. first of all i would like to advice u to take a complete rest.when i was 6 weeks pregnant i had terrible bleeding.i was so shaken that i could not share this trauma with anybody else except my husband.he took me to the doctor immediately.she gave me the same injection(sustain 200) and asked me to do ultrasound.my doctor was not that supportive so i changed my doctor the other day.my new doc was so helpful that now with his help and support im 5th months pregnant with perfectly healthy baby.though i dont belong to ur board but i felt like sharing my past with u.just have faith in god.if the baby is not developing normally its only gods wish to let it go,after all we mothers dont want to give birth to abnormal child and make his life more miserable.otherwise if the baby is healthy,god is always with u. I understand how you may be feeling but just take it easy for anothe week or so. it usually is + or - 2 weeks the due date varies btwn this. hope everything goes well for you.
