hi gals i hv a ques reg ragi flour. i biought ragi flour from indian store and made kanji out of it gave rhea.its in brown color i guess with skin.but some of my friends r warning me thatwe shd give ragi flour without skin only and it looks like maida flour.so Deeksha ans sk i think u guys r giving that.so other people who knows any info abt this cld u clarify my doub.thanks in advacne/bye aparnaa replied. hi,
the ragi powder i get here(bangalore) is also in brown color ...what i do is , i mix it with little water and filter with double filter so that i get only the strained liquid..i then boil it with sugar and more water to make kanchi..
yeah some kids cant digest the ragi skin like my son.. and so i make it this way..

Ragi flour is light brown in colour . If your packet says raagi flour then it should be ok. Make a paste with 1 spoon flour with milk or water and add sugar or jaggery if reqd. Then heat it and cook by adding more milk till its in cerelac consistency .Thats it .
The raagi i give my baby also looks like its coursely ground maybe it has skin too...but its fine. My son loves it and has been having it since he was 4 months.
