Milestones:Fast learner or no great shakes?

Hi,

This is my first baby, so I'm not exactly sure when the so called milestones occur. He has been pretty early according to most books, but all books say milestones vary frm baby to baby. He started rolling over at 2.5 mo, crawling properly at 4 mo, walking holding the furniture / walker at 5. By 7.5 months, he would climb on the sofa, and stand on top of the backrest holding the wall above. At 9 months he started repeating what we say, and can answer 5 questions. (a for? apple, what's yr name? etc.) I just want to know if he's REALLY very early, or many babies complete these milestones like this. He's 11 months now, and hasn't started walking alone yet; though he practically runs with his walker and can walk holding our hands.

The reason I ask this is I'm not sure what kind of activities / games / concepts he can grasp. Would like to channelise his potential to good use if he's really fast; but at the same time, don't want to pressurize him into performing if this is normal. Please give me some advice....and thanks for having the patience through this long mail :)

Hi,
yr baby's doing fine and nothing to worry. i am a mother of 2 kids. one 3yrs and the other 4 months.my 1st kid used to do the same and on his 1st birthday he happend to take steps independently and there on it started. so dont panic and push him too much. let him take his time. his body knows well when he is ready for it.

Congrats! I think your baby is doing very well.
Why do we mums worry so much even when our babies perform so well?
Just quit worrying and start enjoying!

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
