Name: SK Just this morning received the PIO card of yash. So happy...now i can go to india anytime :)

FYI : We do not need to send passport for PIO application as per the few discussions we had on this board.
(I had not posted these many days as I just wanted to sure about this...as i got the pio card today it confirms it).
PIO is actually a small book and looks almost like a indian passport.

Hi SK,
Good to know that you have received a PIO card. I have been thinking to apply it but I haven't done yet. Actually hubby has suggested applying for Dual Citizenship instead. Have you thought about it yet?
He told me “I want my son to be a citizen of India also”. So I have to look in to it. I am happy that today is Friday Looking forward to play with Raghav.

Hey Newyork121,

yes even me and my hubby feal the same and i will be applying one soon...i went with pio first just to get it faster as OCI takes atleast 3 months itseems.Plus you save 75$ if you do it this way.

Congrats on getting the PIO... Well am going nuts over this PIO thing i call the consulate atleast 3 times still they wont respond Arrrrrrrrrgh............. I hope to get it sometime by next month or else God knows ... Why cant these consulate guys answer our call????? Sorry for my vent... Had to get it out......

oh god i know that...the phone number is horrible...i could never talk to them...before sending i was trying to call them and whole week everyday...just to ask should i need to send a original passport...but never ever got a person to talk to...and finally i took the risk of not sending thought i will apply again in case ...
very bad experience there...i was doubthing when i will get the PIO...anyway thank god it was on time!!!!!!..which was quite a surprise actaully as i never expected it yest..:)

houston consulate takes lota time and they dont respond properly over phone...

2 weeks

It took as 2 weeks + ...i am not sure when i actually posted the package but it was in last week of april and got it today..so u can say as 2 weeks.

I went for PIO first

I heard it takes time for OCI atleast 3 months...so i thought lets get PIO first as it take 1-2 weeks to get it and then apply for OCI..it can take its own time to come :). I am not sure when i might get the occasion to go back home due to work so...
plus i will save some 75 bucks this way..either way win sooo went for it...

yash is doing great...thanks for asking...sleeping much better than before...now he comes towards me making hands which is the best..he just wants to come to me whenever he sees me...i just love it...feals the best when he does that :-)...within a week plan to start rich,dal for him..lets see...

how is rohan...did his rash go away..i hope he is doing well...r u using the new car seat for him already? ..i have yet to purchase one...very busy

I have been visiting site and finally cld see posts. Rhea is doing good.Pretty active like other kids.she sings whole abc song and counts 1to 6 (her bro' s impact)
I have been busy since i joined work since Jan ,so my inlaws are here to help with kids.i terribley miss both kids during day.
