Hi, i have a daughter who is almost 11yrs, my problem is that she is fair in complexion bt her neck n underarms are dark black, another thing is she is almost 5feet but over weight, she weighs 75 kilos, actually she was very very lean only 2.70 gms, but from one month old she started put on weight, please can anyone advice someting on this. thanks

A chubby girl with dark skin on neck and underarms should be checked immediately for diabetes. This skin change is called ACANTHOSIS NIGRICANS. I have seen this before. Nothing will help to make the neck fair again if it is caused by a medical problem. If she does not have diabetes or ovary disease the doctor will give you a prescription strength bleaching cream.

please take your daughter right now to the doctor have her check for diabetes and high blood pressure- in the mean time give her no fruit juices, cakes.ghee or no starchy foods.

I have seen this before. Nothing will help to make the neck fair again if it is caused by a medical problem. If diabetes and ovarian disease are not found, the doctor can recommend a prescription strength bleach cream.
