Name: PP HI all I need some info abt the vaccination BCG in india..i m her since last 3 months n will be here for few months more doc here in india suggested to give BCG for my baby.

I need ur's suggestion and info abt this. Has anyone given this to ur babies in india visit ?

Hi PP

I am from Nov2005 board. We went to India in Mid Jan 2005 for a month. My son was around two and half months. I have given that vaccination to my son the first day after arrival. My doc here in US told me it was not necessary but not to expose him too much out side like markets and populated places. As we went for a wedding we didn't want to take any chances so we made son to take that vaccination.
One thing I would suggest that you should go to private doc for that vaccination. We went to Government hospital as we were told only Gov hospital gives that vaccination. We went to Ahmedabad,Gujarat. Not to tell you that the whole experience of going to government hospital was horrible (dirty and nurses over there). But later we found out you can go to Private docs and they have schedule for government people to come and give the vaccination to the patients once a week.
My son was ok after vaccination; no fever or anything like that. Though we were told not use soap and oil for few days.

Thanks NY for the info..
Ya i m visiting to a private doc for vaccination and he only told us to give this so coming monday we will go for that.Although i m in india since last 3 months and usually go out at public places its OK till now didn't face any problems Touch wood.

I was blessed with a daughter 3 years back n I m really thankful to God for that.It was a c-sec delivery n I was alone with my baby as my husband was posted in field location.n I was clueless about bathing riutals. so I never applied UBTAN on her but now I realized she has too much hair on her legs, back n hands n on face too.

I have been visiting site and finally cld see posts. Rhea is doing good.Pretty active like other kids.she sings whole abc song and counts 1to 6 (her bro' s impact)
I have been busy since i joined work since Jan ,so my inlaws are here to help with kids.i terribley miss both kids during day.
