I have been reading all ur messages but couldnt reply as Abhishek has been too cranky.His spit up problems suddenly worsened this week.He also had couple of projectile vomitings.He cries most of the time and just cant sleep.His nasal passage also was congested due to reflux as milk was entering there also.He started crying before and after spit ups.He started crying and fighting during all feedings even if it was a bottle feeding.Adding to all this my parents r leaving back to India this monday.I will be all alone,of course with my hubby and elder one after that.
Hope he gets better soon.Is any other little one suffering due to reflux ?
Yesterday took him to doctor.His weight gain is ok but she said he has too much discomfort during acid reflux and has prescribed zantac 0.3 mg twice a day.he will relieve acid reflux pain. reema replied. reflux is v common in this age as their diaphragm is nt totally dev to close ...fully Ishaan ws given this med immidiatly after birth but half the amnt as he ws jst a few hrs old.. by injections twice a day fr 5 days as babies below 6mnths have cough stuck up like a layer of jam which they cant spit up gulp dwn but milk being super smooth it goes dwn well and then they throe up ... jst chk the milk he throws up is it jst milk or looks like cough mixed as ishaan ws also throwing up we tried this see if it wrked we used to feed him wth gaps like let him suck for 3 or 5 mnts and give a brk of may b 1 or 1nd half mnt ...and resume ..again gv the brk this is time consuming bt it wrkd for me....also when feeding talk to the baby in low pitch ( not hushing) or put in some music ..see if it wrks Meenakshi replied. Hi Sabitha..how are you and abhishek doing?..how' s arjun reacting to abhishek' s presence,its been long time i visited the forum as i was sooo...busy as my in laws were here from the time of birth till last week and offcourse with the kiddo... could' nt get time,but i was able to manage to visit it once in a while...as you told the problem of reflux...Reyansh is also goin through the same problem.its been quite a wile when it all started,he use to spit both from mouth as wella snose which was quite unfamilier for us,asked docter on last visit about it and she said its normal and it will go along with the time.we waited but instead it got worse.He is always uncomfertable after every feeding and if we keep up on his back after feeding he use to spit up straight away,we tried keeping him vertical after each feeding for 20-30 min as i was told that it helps milk to settlee dowm in stomach,but still as soon as we keep him on back he will spit or make noises of as milk is coming back in his mouth and he is gulping...due to which he will be very uncomfertable and cranky...so we asked docter about it in our current visit and she suggesed that she will rather go for using rice cereal in the milk (which will thicken th emilk and will stay in stomach rather than coming up)than giving any medication such as zantac.she asked us to ad a scoop of rice cereal ion the milk and see the results for a week and asked us if its not working then go for some ultrasound called GI series(dont know exact)and after that results only she will prescribe any medicine.we were reluctant to give rice cereal to reyansh at such small agebut as doc suggested we gave him once,but instead of any relief,he spitted again but this time it was thicker cause of rice cereal ,so now we decided not to give hime anymore cereal and are reluctant for the test as well as we searched on net and came to know that in the test they give some radiation to drink which might be harmful (that too for such a little kid).So finally we are there from where we started.just let me know if zantac does any good to abhishek ,then i can ask my pedia to prescribe.
