Name: Anushka

Hi all,

Apart from the various educational cds and videos, I am looking out for a way to make my child' s time at more constructively. Can you all suggest any activities/games?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Anushka, its better to send your child to swimming classes or some games classes. It will not only increase the power of concentration but at the same time keep your kid busy in extra curricular activities

Parents find video games to be a distraction for the kids and it leads to poor academics but studies have shown that kids who play video games have a better concentration power than the kids who don't play video games.

You should not burden a child more than he or she can handle. A child needs time to play too, only studying would just make him more weak and dull. There should be a perfect balance for studies and play in their life.

Why don't you buy your child a chess board? Chess is considered as the smartest and the most brain twisting game as in it you have to make sure you think about moves as fast as possible and also smart ones.

Hello Aanushka,
There are various materials available in market if not you can purchase through various websites also. But you must also make them to write and put it in to practice and let them understand every thing what they are doing.

Fun activities and games designed to simulate the mind. Begin his morning with a puzzle and proceed to work with small activities built arnd his schedule that ensure that his brain gets its requisite exercise for the day.

Play IQ games, chess and puzzles. These are fun and also help your child think. One word of advice though - dont tax your child to play these if he/she doesnt feel upto it. A child must have his/her share of fun! My child is extremely fond of chess and is a member of the chess club at school. However, he doesnt like it when I ask to work on puzzles. Choose as per your child's interest and taste.

rightly said payal. we should not force our child. try to join some badminton coaching so he will get some physical activity also can spend constuctive time and if he like it you can continue with badminton. it can be great sport to play. you also can involve him in carom. it will help him to concentrate and build strategies and his mind will shape in that way. these both games can be played at very small age. and also yyou can have the option for swimming classes. it also healthy and refreshing .
